Description:
The Addiction Program was started in 1994 in UAB's Center For Psychiatric Medicine. The program offers inpatient medical detox, residential care(short term), Partial Hospitalization Program, and an Intensive Outpatient Program for chemically dependent patients and those with dual diagnoses. Other services include family counseling/program, a tract specifically designed for healthcare professionals, a weeklong program specializing in trauma issues, a workshop for physicians with "disruptive" behaviors, and 3-5 day team evaluations for those individuals who need to have diagnoses established. Evals include lab work, PE, neuropsychological testing, psychiatric assessment,etc. In addition, because the program is located within a worldclass medical center, medical conditions can be managed as well.

Payment Information:
Most third party payors are accepted and will pay at least portions of treatment costs. Payment plans over a 90 day period are also available. Per diem rates for treatment are 150$ per day and room and board (if necessary) is 125$ per night. Physician fee extra.

The facility has operated for over 20 years and has enjoyed an excellent reputation.
