Pain and It's Relief
Pain. It's the number one reason a person seeks medical attention. Pain is our body's way of telling us there is something wrong. But what happens if the source of the pain can't be discovered? What if the source of the pain is because the complex system your central nervous system (CNS) has or is malfunctioning? I'll do my best to provide you with resources to help you obtain the pain relief you need and deserve.
Why would a web site about addiction provide information about pain and pain relief? Because the number one concern associated with pain management is the risk of "making the patient an addict". Despite the numerous studies in the literature that show the risk of addiction is low when a person follows the prescribed plan for pain relief, this continues to be the overriding concern of the patient, doctor, nurse, pharmacist, and government agencies. Because there is this concern, far too many individuals dealing with pain never get the best relief possible.
Be forwarned, this is a very controversial area with many myths, misbeliefs, and misinformation. What you find on this website should never be considered medical advice or legal advice. I am not a physician and I am not an attorney. Please consult a qualified pain specialist and/or attorney familiar with these issues in order to obtain the best advice possible about your pain treatment or legal difficulties associated with your pain management plan.
